The Route – New, Yet Familiar
Šotovento is a true biker’s playground - a network of trails, gravel roads, and side paths offering almost endless combinations.
This winter, we faced an extra challenge: adapting the route to the season, shorter days, winter conditions, and lower temperatures call for a different approach.
That’s why we’ve prepared a new, more compact route of about 37 km. It partly follows the trails from previous years but includes new sections and some familiar ones, only in the opposite direction. And on a bike… that makes it an entirely new story.
This year’s start is not “as usual” – we’re setting off from the very heart of Krk’s old town, from St. Bernardin Promenade near the Sundial, with a sea view and the Advent stage as our backdrop.
After a few warm-up kilometers, the route takes you straight into the heart of Šotovento – an area already known for its peaceful paths, wooded climbs, and winding gravel roads bordered by dry-stone walls.
Some parts will feel familiar, some completely new, and some old but in reverse.
E-bike? Of course.
There’s also a shorter version (20 km) for those who prefer an easier ride – but note: the short route has no feed zone.
NOTE: The Epic Rides route is always carefully designed, ensuring that it never exceeds 50 km and 1,000 m of elevation gain (combined). Also, the route has no technically demanding sections, and if any are unavoidable due to terrain, they are short, walkable, and additionally marked along the course.

Nestled in a pine forest by the sea, Valamar Camping Ježevac is located just a few minutes’ walk from the picturesque center of Krk town. The distance from the Epic Rides start line is 1 km (about 15 minutes on foot). Mobile homes, depending on the type, are suitable for 2 to a maximum of 6 adults.

Note:
A one-time fee of €37.00 applies in addition to the mobile home rental. This includes an initial set of bed linen (top and bottom sheets and pillowcases for a double bed, two sheets and pillowcases for two single beds) and two towels per person for the number of registered guests in the mobile home, as well as final cleaning.
The tourist tax is not included in the rental price and is charged per person per night.
